Kicking off a new single series, RBMA 2015 alum HomeSick collaborates with fellow Canadian artist Woulg on the cataclysmic “What Did You Think Would Happen?” Since it’s Rhythm Week on RBMA from June 4 to June 8, HomeSick offered us some insights into the track’s idiosyncratic rhythmic makeup:
"While the track was made to fit the speed and feel of a Jungle/DnB mix, the percussive elements come from a totally different place, keeping up this chant-y pattern pretty consistently through the track. The heavily low-ended synth that is flying over the main part of the track follows a three-count syncopation that is, for me, immensely more satisfying to hear landing on and off of the four-count of the clap pattern underneath."
