Nadia was helping her mother-in-law register at the university for English classes when they agreed to spend a few minutes with me.
It was very hot outside at the time, and I had already conducted several other interventions, and that may have resulted in the video capture issues near the end of the conversation. I finally purchased a second camera to be used as a backup just in case something like that happens again, and to also give me a second camera angle.
Nadia is a Muslim who bases her belief largely on her personal experiences, but when she encounters things in her life that cause her to doubt, she will employ faith to move back up to a high degree of confidence. Near the very end of the talk, Nadia admits that fear is a "pretty big factor" in why she is reluctant to examine if her belief is actually true or not.
Interestingly, Nadia's mother (not the mother-in-law) emailed me a few hours after this talk and asked if we could meet to discuss HER religious beliefs (which were far different from Nadia's). I am hopeful that one day I will be able to meet with Nadia again without all the distractions that you see in this video and further examine her beliefs.
