Shows Main Idea – Reactive racism is a spontaneous, lack of self-control moment where you say something unkind to someone. Reflective racism is more introspective and internalized. It's a genuine racist. You would characterize someone this way: "He's a racist." Which one are you? (I believe I heard Shelby Steele use this term.) You could also talk about reactive and reflective pertaining to any form of anger, not just racism. In this episode, I'll talk about both—racism and other forms of anger.
