Marcus Roberts curates a scintillating series. His own consummate trio deliver a celebration of Monk and Coltrane. New Orleans meets Harlem looks back at Bud Powell, Earl Hines and Jelly Roll Morton while the Saturday night finale finds Roberts’ Big Band playing Basie, Ellington and his own works.
