Description

Like everything else in America today it seems, youth sports is stratifying: kids from wealthy families are playing more and at a higher level than ever before; kids from poor and working-class families are playing less. What's going wrong? Can youth sports still build community? Ethics Forward talks with Patrick Fitzgerald, director of Highlands Youth Recreation, about building a sports league that's about recreation rather than winning, and how sports can bring together kids who would not otherwise get to know one another.
