To welcome in the New Year and get you started down a better path in 2023, on this week’s show, your host, Justin Mog, tries to get at the roots of our future fulfillment with Chris Isgrigg. Once a farmer in rural Kentucky, Chris Isgrigg is now a practicing psychotherapist in Louisville. He’s thought deeply about the relationships that weave each of us to each other and to the more-than-human world and has integrated the natural world meaningfully into his therapeutic approach.
Our goal today is to invite you to nurture your relationships with the other-than-humans in our world. We explore reasons for avoiding the term “nature” and start our conversation with the definition of culture from Navajo elder Pat McCabe/Woman Stands Shining: "Culture is the Earth expressing Herself through human beings in a particular place." This conversation is so rich. You won’t want to miss it and wend with our wishes for you going into 2023:
May you be happy, healthy and whole,
May you have love, warmth and affection,
May you be protected from harm and free from fear,
May you be alive, engaged and joyful...may you experience inner peace and ease
