On this week’s edition of Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, stops for a chat in the grocery aisle with Jon Steinman, author of the new book, "Grocery Story: The Promise of Food Co-ops in the Age of Grocery Giants,” published on May 7, 2019 by New Society Publishers. Jon is from Nelson, British Columbia, where he has served as a Board member of the largest natural foods consumer cooperative in Canada. Jon recently took his book tour through Kentucky, with a stop in Lexington (with a live stream to us here in Louisville) on June 21st, and we caught up with him by phone for this conversation about the state of the grocery industry today and why community ownership matters.
