Description

On this special Holiday edition of Sustainability Now!, Justin Mog sits down by the warm microphones with Kirt Hodges, an Earth-centered pantheist who thrives on engaging with other seekers. Kirt is a Kentucky native who has worked as a wilderness guide and outdoor educator in the Pacific Northwest for more than ten years before recently returning to Louisville to attend seminary. He’s working toward a Masters of Divinity degree next June. Kirt was raised in the Methodist church, was "unchurched" and identified as "spiritual but not religious" for about 20 years, and became a Unitarian Universalist late in the first year of seminary. He has worked in outdoor spirituality in nature-based rites of passage and community initiation of persons into a given life stage. The the central question for our conversation is this: How is sustainability of natural resources dependent upon, or interrelated with, sustainability of human culture and consciousness?
