Description

In the second sermon in our Jonah series, Fabs leads us through Jonah's prayer of Thanksgiving so that we can explore Jonah's experience of God's mercy.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What has stayed with you from the sermon?
2. When you consider the Who, What, When, Where, Why of God's mercy - which part do you think is easiest for people to grasp, and which part seems the trickiest?
3. What makes it hard for you to want to live in an economy of mercy vs. earning? What are the pros and cons of a system of mercy?
4. Read Jonah's prayer together from chapter two. What stands out to you?
5. Fabs shared different places we may find ourselves in this journey of mercy: (1) bracing for punishment (2) in the depths losing hope (3) in the moment of joy after provision (4) back on dry land. Which one resonates with you most right now?
6. Are there moments in your life where you have felt the kind of mercy Jonah seems to be experiencing? What have those moments felt like for you?
