DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What has stayed with you from the sermon? Either an encouragement, challenge or something confusing?
2. Read Jonah 3. What stands out to you?
3. In many ways, chapter 3 mirrors chapter 1. What is the significance of that literary device?
4. Why do you think Jonah’s message spread so rapidly and powerfully through Nineveh?
5. Mark talked about the nature of communal sin. Why is that so challenging for us? What do we miss by being so self-focused?
6. The sermon shared about the parity of God’s character between judgement and mercy. How would God be different if there wasn’t parity between these two characteristics- a God of great judgement without mercy OR a God of great mercy without judgement?
