Description

As we continue in our 50 day series on the Holy Spirit called LEARNING TO BREATHE, we consider God's passion to be with God's people. In many ways, the Holy Spirit is the culmination of God's faithful presence with us.

Acts 1:1-9

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. How was your experience last week with the journal and the concept of “Holy Spirit as an Instrument of Justice?” Did anything meaningful take place? How was it challenging?
2. What stayed with you from the sermon- either an encouragement or something you wrestle with?
3. In this sermon, Mark shared about God’s with-ness. As a group group recall the different ways in which God’s presence was experienced in the Old Testament. Talk about the beauty and limitation in each expression.
4. Read Acts 1:1-9. What do you notice within this reading? What questions arise?
5. Mark concluded the sermon by talking about three expressions of the church’s faithful presence. Recall them with one another. Which is the most challenging for you? In which expression have you experienced God’s presence lately?
6. We are called to bear witness in this world. A practice to help us in this is the Prayer of Epiclesis. What is a particular place or relationship you’d like to dedicate to God’s Spirit? What difference could it make?
