"Little Boxes" may be the most popular song Leni Sorensen and The Womenfolk ever recorded, but Leni herself is far too interesting a person to put in any one box. Folk singer, culinary historian, teacher, and now African-American folk music expert, Leni has done it all. Now she sits down with Soundboard's Emily Richardson-Lorente to reminisce, and give a preview of her talk “Goodnight Irene: African Americans Performing in the Folk Tradition,” which she'll be delivering at the Jefferson School African-American Heritage Center in downtown Charlottesville.
