Author, attorney and political leader Michael Signer joins award-winning journalist Coy Barefoot to discuss his books, Demagogue: The Fight to Save Democracy from its Worst Enemies, and Becoming Madison: The Extraordinary Origins of the Least Likely Founding Father. They explore the 2016 presidential race, the demagoguery of Donald Trump, and the implications for American democracy. Signer earned his doctorate in Political Science at the University of California at Berkeley, and his JD at the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a Lecturer at UVA and at the time of this interview, served as the Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia.
