This week in 1819... For years, Thomas Jefferson’s grandson Jeff Randolph and his brother-in-law Charles Bankhead had been at loggerheads. Eyewitness accounts differ as to who threw the first blow, but one thing is for sure: Charles stabbed his brother-in-law twice and seriously wounded him.
