The master of my first real mix CD, "Jetset Discotheque" from the year 2000 recently surfaced in a box of relics where it had been hiding from me for years. I had bee DJing since 93 but it took me this long to feel proud about something I'd composed with a purpose. My friend Ryan Raddon (on his way to breaking out as KASKADE) was kind enough to master this at his home studio during his time in Salt Lake City.
Hearing it now, "Jetset" was a blueprint for how I've been DJing ever since. Deep intros, soulful garage vocals, funky underground dubs, disco influences, acid traxx and the occasional club anthem... all weave through my DJ sets still today.
The original was missing for so long that it became the inspiration for a revival tour of sorts in 2012. I had assumed it was lost forever, so I'm excited to be able to share this time capsule from one of the happiest times ...and places... (The Warehouse!) in my life. So much appreciation for the people who were there, and have continued to support my dream of sharing music through the years.
