Bio:
Salt Lake City has trouble keeping up with Jesse Walker.
As an award winning DJ, designer, artist, and gentle ambassador to the city, he's helped shape underground dance music, design, art and culture in Utah for two decades.
Founder of New City Movement, a production entity and online journal, Mr. Walker embraces his surroundings to the fullest. In the process becoming an alternative voice in one of the most strangely beautiful places on earth. His New City Movement is simply about dreaming bigger, and supporting the people and things that make life in the Mountain West more than we thought possible.
When he's not playing host to some of the most respected DJ's in the country, he can be found wandering the streets of downtown, or mixing his signature blend of soulful, intelligent music at everything from art galleries, music festivals and fashion shows, to discotheques and late-night warehouse parties.
Walker is also known for his collaboration on large-scale installation and performance based art works. Most recently as a board member with NOW International. A fiercely contemporary, interdisciplinary dance/art company based in Salt Lake City.
DJ credits include guest performances at the 2002 Winter Olympics, Sundance Film Festival, SLC Gay Pride (one of the largest in the U.S.) and top billing with acts Empire of the Sun, Big Freedia, Crystal Waters, EnVogue, Brazilian Girls, Pepe Deluxe, Devotchka and WAR. He also received early support from the crossover EDM artist KASKADE.
