1 Kings 3:16-28
As king, Solomon not only created laws and led the nation, he also served as its judge. One famous case involved two women, each claiming to be the mother of a certain infant. His strategy to discover the truth brought him fame for his wisdom. As Jesus’s people we also need God’s wisdom. Fortunately for us, God gives wisdom generously when we ask for it.
“Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:9).
Jesus: “I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict” (Luke 21:15).
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5).
