1 Kings 11:1-13
In God’s world, actions have consequences. We may assume we’ve been able to evade those consequences, but they eventually catch up with us. The scriptures teach that true wisdom means obeying God’s way – even when it’s costly. Wisdom knows that going off on our own way costs us more in the end.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7).
Jesus: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24).
“People reap what they sow” (Galatians 6:7, TNIV).
