Description

Lance Lewman has been a professional performer for over 35 years, and a voiceover and on-camera performer for over 25 years.

After doing theatre and film in NYC for nine years he came to the Washington Mid-Atlantic market in 1990. Since then, he has narrated hundreds of programs for National Geographic alone, numerous programs for Discovery, PBS (both “Frontline” and “Nova”), and as a network announcer on CBS for “The Kennedy Center Honors.”

The program he narrated entitled, “5 Years on Mars,” won an Emmy Award for Best Science Documentary and he narrated National Geographic’s “Super Pride,” which also won a National Emmy.

In Television, he won an Emmy for his work on the PBS live Comedy series “Crabs.”

As a director, Lance won the Best Production category in the Baltimore Playwrights Festival awards for his production of “Snow” and broke attendance records for his productions of “Noises Off” at Harbor theatre, and “The Runner Stumbles” at the Ellicott Theatre.

Lance was Executive Producer and co-creator for a children’s television program entitled “Duddy’s Dynamite Diggs.” Though the finished program is still in development, the show’s pilot entitled “Going To Camp” can be viewed on YouTube.

Lance also teaches both Voice-Over Techniques and Narration Techniques for the Washington/Baltimore SAG AFTRA Conservatory.

He is a graduate of The University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
