Description

In this week’s Putumayo World Music Hour, Rosalie Howarth and Dan Storper explore the rhythms that enslaved people brought from Africa to the new world. There, they combined with European and American influences to create styles like Jazz, the Blues, and even Rock and Roll. African rhythms continue to inspire new genres of music like Electronica and Hip Hop.
