This month we invited the talented @betty-b-69 to create a mix for the Style of Sound. Check out the mini-interview we did with her along with the mix!
..... TEN Questions We Posed to Betty
1. What artists have made a big impact on you?
I particularly liked bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order… they were my favourites and I still listen to them now. New-wave influenced me a lot. That's what I like with the sounds of the tracks of Endrik Schroeder and Curses.
2. What attracts you to a song?
I generally like melodic or melancholic tracks with pads and synths, including some 80's vibes.
3. Your lifestyle in five words?
Night owl, music, equality, freedom, my sister & friends.
4. Who do you respect?
I respect those who respect me.
5. Which city do you live in?
Lyon.
6. Where is the best place to grab a coffee in your city?
I prefer to go out at night so I would say the Bellona, it's a boat with a restaurant and a night-club. The place is beautiful and it organises open air in the summer. I also like the Transbordeur for the concerts.
7. Do you believe in ghosts?
I don't know if ghosts exist, but if they came to haunt me, I wish they were the ghosts of David Bowie, Prince, Florian Schneider, Ian Curtis or Frédéric Chopin.
8. Are you more of a rule breaker or a rule keeper? Why?
In general, I respect the rules because they make it possible to live well in society, but in certain emergency or force majeure situations, I’m able to break them.
9. When you travel, do you pack too much or too little? Explain.
Too much!!!! I need to have all my house.
10. What are your future plans?
Since last summer, I have computer music lessons. My goal is to learn how to use Ableton to produce music.I recently collaborated with my friend Neurotiker for whom I writed the lyrics and gave my vocals. I’m over the moon, our track will be released at the end of the year on one of my favorite label, Melopee Records! And now I'm working on a new project still with Neurotiker. I really like his work.
