Join us for an evening that looks beyond breaking news and political narratives to the people whose lives illuminate global change. Pulitzer Prize–winning author and longtime New Yorker staff writer Lawrence Wright has spent his career uncovering the human stories at the center of world events – from communities transformed by terrorism and authoritarianism to individuals navigating the cultural and political shifts across the Middle East. His reporting has helped define how we understand not just what is happening, but who is affected and why it matters.
Wright will explore the themes that animate his work: the tension between power and truth, the fragility of democratic institutions, and the deeply personal experiences that reveal the stakes of global affairs. Drawing on decades of on-the-ground reporting and his acclaimed body of work, he will offer an intimate look at the forces shaping today’s world and the lives caught within them.
