Ginger Allen (Lucille Ball)works at the Joyland Palace in Manhattan where she dances with patrons for ten cents a dance. As the show opens, we learn her friend Julie was supposed to pick her up for work but never showed up.
When Ginger arrives at work late Julie isn't there and no one knows where she is or why she's absent. Ginger soon learns Julie was found murdered.
She also learns for the first time about a serial killer in the City who is stalking taxi dancers -- and all of his victims have had red hair.
