Detectives Joe Friday and Frank Smith have been assigned to the Burglary Unit. For over two months a gang of burglars have been operating as safe crackers in Los Angeles.
The public is clamoring for an arrest -- so far the thieves have successfully robbed over a dozen locations and still the LAPD has no leads as to their identities.
When Joe and Frank get a call from Ernie, one of their informants, it makes them hope for the big break they desperately need.
