While visiting Coney Island Betty Andrews unsuspectingly purchases a ticket for the Haunted Mill Ride. In her boat a stranger suddenly appears -- a man who tells her he is being hunted by a killer.
The two climb out of the boat onto one of the displays and the mystery man explains he has made a bet with his uncle: His life against $25,000. If he can escape being murdered his uncle will pay him; if he cannot, he dies.
There are now only five hours left before he wins the bet.
