Throckmorton Gildersleeve likes to think of himself as an urbane ladies man -- but even the great ones can be struck down.
Gildy is smitten. He observes a beautiful woman leaving a cafe just as he enters, and he knows at once he must meet her. After asking around, he discovers she is the guest of the president of the country club - and Gildy's sworn enemy.
When Gildy learns she is going to be at the country club dance Saturday Night, he knows the only way he can possibly get an invitation is by apologizing to the man he detests.
