Setting the record straight on the challenges, raw meaning and passion behind some of fashions greatest imagery.

Background to my idea and my interest: I have always had a huge interest in fashion. From an early age it is something that I have been completely fascinated by. Not purely in terms of how I dress myself, but more so the evolution of style and clothing as an art form and how it is captured. Over the past four years of this course I have been fortunate to realise that it is completely possible to work in a creative environment particularly in the world of fashion and make a living from something I feel strongly about. However, even from speaking to family members or friends about what I do when on photoshoots as an assistant stylist, it is apparent that they are totally unaware of the work, inspirations and meanings behind particular photoshoots. People have tended to “oohh” and “aah” when I talk about working on particular fashion shoots which is nice, but there are definitely times when it is extremely challenging both physically and mentally which I hope this documentary unearths. For this reason I decided I needed to unveil both the creative and the commercial aspects of the fashion industry. I decided to focus particularly on the point of view of the photographer. This is mainly due to the fact that many of the photographers that I have met to date have been really intense and extremely passionate about their work. They have a true vision in their minds and for this reason I felt they would best allay their story of the craft and the graft to working in the fashion industry.
