Description

The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs held its first organizational meeting and business meeting of the 116th Congress on January 29, 2019.

The committee elected Sen. John Hoeven (R-North Dakota) as chairman and Sen. Tom Udall (D-New Mexico) as vice chair. The committee also adopted rules for the current session of Congress.

A budget resolution is expected to be approved at the committee's next meeting on February 6.

The committee went into a business meeting immediately following the organizational meeting. A total fo 12 bills were approved unanimously, en bloc. The list follows:
