Business Meeting to Consider S. 383, a bill to provide for Indian trust asset management reform, and for other purposes; and S. 732, a bill to amend the Act of June 18, 1934, to reaffirm the authority of the Secretary of the Interior to take land into trust for Indian tribes.
The committee approved S.383 by a voice vote after adopting an amendment.
Sen. Tester (D-Montana) withdrew S.732 from consideration in light of another bill introduced by Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) to address the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.
