Description

The House Committee on Appropriations approved the fiscal year 2019 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill on a vote of 25-20 on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Debate included an amendment to prevent the Trump administration from reorganizing the Department of the Interior without engaging in consultation with Indian Country and without providing additional information to Congress.

The committee did not adopt the amendment, which was proposed by Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minnesota), the top Democrat of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. She also serves as the co-chair of the Congressional Native American Caucus.
