It's a double horror feature this week, and we review "Us" the latest from "Get Out" director Jordan Peele. And the remake of the 1989 film "Pet Sematary" based on the book by Stephen King.
First up is "Us" written and directed by Jordan Peele. The film stars Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker, and follows a family confronted by their doppelgängers. Peele produced the film alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick with the trio previously having collaborated on "Get Out". There is a lot of expectations riding on this film, especially after the success of "Get Out", and we ask if Peele isn't a one trick pony.
And next up is "Pet Sematary" directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer and written by Jeff Buhler, from a screen story by Matt Greenberg. The film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow, and follows a family that discovers a mysterious graveyard in the woods behind their new home. The previous 1989 adaptation hasn't aged well but is still one of the better interpretations of King's work. So we discuss if the second time round improves on the previous attempts.
