Making sense out of the things that happen in our lives and in the world around us is an ongoing challenge. The disciples of the road to Emmaus were doing just that when Jesus came alongside them and entered into their conversation. As he broke bread with them their eyes were opened and they recognized him. He still makes his presence real to us in the Word of Scripture and in the Lord’s Supper to live humbly and boldly until he comes again in glory.
