Today’s reading from John 14 is the most chosen text for funerals. Few things in life trouble the heart like the death of a loved one. Jesus spoke these words to his disciples on the night before he died to prepare them for the days ahead. Our hearts have certainly been troubled in recent weeks and the full fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic remains to be seen. For our troubled hearts Jesus speaks, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
