Murmuring Beneath by Lina Choi was created for the 2025 edition of the Ice Follies Festival, a presentation by Near North Mobile Media Lab in North Bay with artistic and technical support from New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA). Works by Canadian artists Stephanie Dupuis, Shaughn Martel, Genevieve Kiessling and Kyle Vanderlaan are also part of this album and presentation. All of the pieces on the album use ice sounds recorded by the artists on Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake, and in the case of Lina Choi, the St. Lawrence River in Montreal. Photo by Alejandra Lara.
