We're delighted to bring you new music from Kobina, in which he work's with Irish folk-pop singers CARRON's 'Even Sad Birds Sing. Kobina, the Irish native who is currently living in Amsterdam has reworked this track as park of a collaboration offering.
Even Sad Birds Sing (Kobina Remix) is the second of CARRON’s quarantine remix series. During Lockdown, they reached out to their followers on social media in search of Irish creatives that might be interested in collaborating on a remix project. The response was huge.
Kobina's edit, to us, brings together similar sounds of Four Tet's creative vocal sampling and chopping while withholding the original Folk-Pop sound, which comes together in similar way's to some of Daithi's music bring these traditional sounds to a new life.
Their new remix single ‘Even Sad Birds Sing’ re-enforces the sisters’ ethos to stick together during difficult times, with a darkly fresh club sound that evokes the isolation, uncertainty, and fear that is prevalent in today’s society.
