Having wanted to feature more Irish jungle and drum and bass, our wish came true almost instantly, as Sinéad Meaney, aka Sculptress provided us with an hour of jungle for our Local Selection mix series.
It's no secret that Four Four has leant towards techno and house music over the years, but little by little we're starting to feature more diverse and eclectic sounds that we might have somewhat overlooked. Now we're not saying jungle and drum & bass is overlooked, but we certainly have not featured anywhere near enough of it over the years, but we're going about changing this, one article or mix at a time.
Irish DJ and producer Sculptress, is the electronic music project of Berlin based multimedia artist and DJ Sinéad Meaney, whose work combines audiovisual installation, electronic music and performance., while also part of the Irish based Gash collective, who focus on supporting female identifying and LGBTQ+ producers and DJ’s in the field of electronic music internationally.
So, today, we welcome only the second jungle mix of our series, welcoming Sinéad Meaney, aka Sculptress to our Four Four Magazine 'Local Selection' hot seat, as she delivers an hour of bouncing jungle, featuring tracks from some of our favourite acts, such as dBridge, Om Unit, Djrum, 2 Bad Mice, Aphex Twin and Skee Mask.
