It's fair to say we share mixes and tunes from music fanatics weekly, but every now and then we come across a DJ whose knowledge and collection of tunes is somewhat unrivalled. Philip Ryan is one of those gems of a selector and DJ.
There are tons of music fanatics who don't stomp the social media grounds, but instead have their heads constantly stuck into the music, and for this very reason, it's our absolute pleasure to share some of the gems they unearth and create.
Having been mixing and writing about techno for over 30 years, we're humbled to share a Local Selection Mix from Philip Ryan and hear his take on all things tunes.
"I've been buying records and writing about techno for almost 30 years; over that time I've played in clubs and events like the Electric Picnic, D1’s Model One clubnight, D-Fuse, Genius, Electric City, DEAF festival, Creation beach parties and Bodytonic’s Pogo.
I only use vinyl to DJ, and like a pretty kinetic mixing style – I also produce, where I’m more focused on my parallel love for ambient and electronica."
