Introducing the first Local Selection of 2026, and the 290th edition of the series is Belfast-based DJ Keeva G, who has kindly contributed an hour of power which showcases her affinity for the harsher, mind-boggling edges of techno. A statement mix right from the off. No playing around here.
Keeva G has steadily carved her place within the Irish techno scene over the last few years as a compelling, sought-after DJ. Recognised for her diverse sets that incorporate hypnotic soundscapes with raw, driving techno. Her love for the genre’s foundations is unmistakable, with selections often nodding to old-school selections, drawing inspiration from the gritty, machine-driven sounds that defined techno's deep history.
With a background shaped by years immersed in the dance music scenes of Amsterdam, London, and New York, Keeva has harnessed this time spent across a wide range of dancefloors and channelled her specific sound that is a staple in her sets, which is both dynamic and uncompromising. Fusing hypnotic textures with a relentless sense of movement, her sets balance the raw energy of classic techno with a modern, groove-focused flavour that typically draws influences from Bas Mooy, ø [Phase], and Sunil Sharpe.
Having built a strong repertoire in a relatively short span of time, Keeva G has earned herself notable slots at Fuinneamh, Emerge, and If You Know You Know Festival. Not to mention Club M01 in Berlin with Nexus, as well as Belfast’s iconic Telegraph Building, Banana Block, The Ulster Sports Club and Pawn Shop in Dublin.
This recording applies tension right from the off, and continues to nudge at the ever-expanding intensity as the recording progresses. All while tapping into and embracing a selection of eerily hypnotic and ethereal selections, while keeping that consistent hard-edge at the mixes core throughout.
