When God asks you to build a memorial it is like Him saying: What is your plan to remember?
Memorials focus you on what God-has-done NOT what you-have-done.
Shame and guilt are memorials to everything that you’ve done wrong.
But God in His grace has given us a new way of remembrance in the New Testament:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
