Initially, through faith, God saves us from sin and with His Holy Spirit, gives us the power to overcome. The initial work is God. Afterwards, God saves us unto good works and we grow in grace and love for God and for people.
Reaching the next step in your walk with Jesus Christ doesn't come accidentally and happens in steps, much like how we grew physically.
• The next step will require spiritual discipline such as prayer, worship, the study of God's Word and controlling our pride and ego.
• It will also require connection to both God and to people around you.
• The next step will also require spiritual confidence; which naturally comes as your connection with the Lord strengthens. Just as the Lord told us that we being the branches, will bear much fruit, as long as we stay attached to the tree. (God)
