For this episode, Charlie Clemoes spoke to René Put, Celina Yavelow, and fanfare’s own Freja Kir, who have together initiated Wat Nu Koetsier?, fourth edition of Chives Archives, a project initiated by Freja and Celina looking into archives and collections related to printed matter in its broadest sense. Reacting to Dutch artist Hans Koetsier’s original 1970s project "Advertisements", each week, for 45 weeks, Wat Nu Koetsier? invited a different designer to produce a work that would be featured in advertising space in Dutch Newspaper Het Parool's art section and online.
With all 45 designs now published, the work will be presented as an exhibition and publication launch on 4 and 5 November 2017, between 12:00-18:00, on De Ruijterkade 127, Amsterdam.
The music featured at the beginning, end and throughout the recording was derived from the songs "Kinda Messy” and “The Anxious Battle for Sanity” by Antonio Sanchez, both of which were also featured as the backing track in a short video depicting the project, which can be found at the following link: https://vimeo.com/222492944.
