Carla Aday returns from her summer 2016 sabbatical where she served for a month with Mediterranean Hope, an Italian humanitarian organization founded in response to the dramatic refugee migration by sea from North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East towards the coast of Sicily and, in particular, the southernmost outpost formed from the island of Lampedusa.
