Ichion is a project by Jason Hobman, a digital sound artist based in Tokyo. His work is ultra-minimal, and the tracks are based around short, often inaudible, samples, looped and manipulated by effects.
His intent is to showcase the sound of the digital glitches rather than the samples themselves.
Each of the tracks is composed from one sound only, each sample being
manipulated into a full-length track. The purpose of the album was to produce something strangely beautiful from fractured rhythms and extreme frequencies.
