Description

Four times throughout the Song of Songs, an ancient form of poetry known as the "wasf" or the "blazon" is employed. Through this device, the Shulamite is described using promised land imagery and Solomon described using temple imagery. These pronouncements of love challenge our modern standards of beauty.
