AFRICA FORECAST artist Firelei Baez discusses the dynamics of race and identity in her work within the context of her Dominican and Haitian roots and upbringing in the United States. Baez also delves into how Afro-Caribbean
folklore plays an important thematic role in what she creates, the
importance of the size/scale of her work, and why she is excited to have work on view at the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.
