Ms. Erin Palette is a Second Amendment activist (which frequently puts her at odds with the extreme left) and a transgender woman (which frequently puts her at odds with the extreme right). Despite this, she still believes that both sides have more in common than in difference and tries to facilitate communication and understanding between the two. Erin believes that gun rights and queer rights are human rights, and that armed queer people don’t get bashed.
Erin founded Operation Blazing Sword in the wake of the Pulse Massacre as a way to reach queer people who desire firearms for self-defense, but don't feel safe learning to use them via traditional methods, by matching them with friendly gun owners willing to instruct them in the basics of firearm safety and operation. Operation Blazing Sword has over 1,300 instructors in all 50 states as well as Canada and Australia. She is also the National Coordinator for the Pink Pistols, which merged with Operation Blazing Sword in 2018, making her the head of the largest pro-gun queer group in the country.
