Ep 255 | Aired 8/6/2021
My guest today on Up in Your Business is Abbi Siler of Abbi’s Tea and Things.
After a decade-long career in digital marketing and advertising, Abbi took her late father’s advice and, in February of 2018, opened her “little tea shop” and fulfilled a long-time dream of working for herself.
With an open heart, this family run operation serves up a delicious variety of teas, treats, and laughter, along with an ever-changing selection of gifts and local art. On any given day, you will find Abbi blending teas, Mom washing dishes, and her sister greeting customers (but only on Fridays!).
Before the pandemic, Abbi’s little tea room, located in the Historic Hillcrest District of Little Rock, Arkansas, was available to rent for small gatherings. Now, she runs a curbside tea stand outside her shop to fulfill all her customers’ needs.
We discuss all things tea; from its ingredients to its social and cultural history. Do they have medicinal purposes? What constitutes a black, white, green, or herbal tea? And what does "Rooibos" or "Yerba Mate" mean?
