What an upheaval this year has been to everyone’s routine, including ours at Up In Your Business with Kerry McCoy. Though we have really enjoyed hearing replays of some of our past interviews, it is exciting to get back into the studio with our newest guest, Mr. John Burkhalter.
Mr. Burkhalter is an inventor. After one of his patents (and he has many) became monetarily successful, he parlayed his newfound wealth and civil engineering background into becoming a real estate investor in some of the largest developments around Arkansas.
His current project, Rock City Yacht Club, is located on the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock and has a minimum price tag of $100 million dollars to develop. In Rock City Yacht Club’s site plan, you see Burkhalter’s plan for a what looks like a small village; complete with apartments, marina, outdoor dining, entertainment areas, restaurant, mechanics shop, storefront, and boat docks that are already housing ocean-going yachts and party barges for day rental.
You may also recognize Burkhalter's name from when he opposed Tim Griffin in the race for Lieutenant Governor, from when he served on the Arkansas State Highway Commission, or from being an avid supporter of the nonprofit Pathfinders, Inc.
