Ep 298 | Aired 5/27/22
This week on Up In Your Business with Kerry McCoy, we revisit my interview with radio personality and local legend, the late Bob Robbins.
Bob’s life was long, and he was loved by many. His story is one of survival and compassion, evident by his radio personality that was the same on air as it was off.
Year after year on Flag Day, I would join Bob outside his radio station for live, on-air broadcasting. Together, we would give away American flags to passers-by and I would see the wide and varied fan base he garnered. His legacy as a country music lover, motorcycle rider, and military supporter will live on forever.
Hear Bob talk sentimentally about the brother that raised him in Morocco, after his parents died. Also: how he got in to the radio business, how he survived a hitman’s baseball-bat-attack outside his business, BJ’s Honky Tonk, and why he isn’t the original “Bob Robbins.”
