A man starts drinking at 1:00am on a Sunday night. He is a pizza delivery driver. He is in his underwear on a screened in porch listening to Miles Davis. He has tried to convince himself he hates niggers. He knows deep inside that this is not the way to be. In the months that pass he gets on food stamps because he cannot afford the wages he makes. One November he kills those thoughts and leaves it up to God, like he has done a thousand times. Tonight, on the same rum and cigarettes he makes this mixtape, after hearing both love and hate in the same poem, and again leaving it up to God.
